Tres Leches Cake



Tres Leches Cake is a light, airy sponge cake soaked with a mixture of three milks evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy whipping cream.


Ingredients:
Classic Yellow Cake mix (Duncan Hines) - 1 Box
Eggs - 3 
Water - 1 cup
Vanilla extract - 1 tsp
Vegetable Oil - 1/3 cup
Sweetened condensed milk  - 1 can (14 oz) 
whole milk or evaporated milk  - 1 cup
whipping cream - 1 cup
Whipped Fluffy White Frosting (Duncan Hines) - 1 can 

For garnishing :
Fresh Fruits and Chocolate shavings (Optional)

Preparation:
  • Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease  bottom and sides of cake pan.
  • In large bowl, beat cake mix, water, vegetable oil,Vanilla extract and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan.
  • Bake as directed on box . When it is done take it out and let stand 5 minutes. Poke top of hot cake every 1/2 inch with long- fork, wiping fork occasionally to reduce sticking.
  • In large bowl, stir together sweetened condensed milk, whole milk and whipping cream. Carefully pour evenly over top of cake. Cover and refrigerate about 1 hour or until mixture is absorbed into cake.
  • Frost with white frosting and garnish with chocolate shavings and fresh fruits of your choice.
  • Yummy Tres leches cake is ready to serve

Cherry Blossom Cake



It’s cherry blossom time again in Washington DC. The famous cherry blossom trees around the Tidal Basin have burst into flowers. It’s an annual tradition in Washington DC and this marks the unofficial start of spring.
I prepared a cake with cherry blossom theme , its a strawberry cake covered with buttercream icing and fondant and decorated with cherry trees and flowers.
