This is a traditional telangana dish , goes well with rice and dal .
Ingredients:
Tamarind
Finely chopped Onion(1/2 onion)
Oil (2 tbs)
Red chillies(1 chilly)
Green Chillies(2 chillies)
Curry Leaves(4-5 leaves)
Ginger garlic paste(1 tsp)
Salt to taste
Cilantro
Preparation:
- Soak tamarind in water for 20-25 mins.Squeeze juice from tamarind.
- Fry green chillies without oil and make them into fine paste.
- Pour the tamarind juice in separate bowl,add onions,salt,green chilly paste and ginger garlic paste and mix well.
- If your tamarind juice is sour you can add sugar(1tsp).
- Heat small pan add oil,mustard seeds,cumin,red chillies .when red chillies are fried,off the stove and add turmeric and curry leaves.We call this process as popu.
- Pour this popu into the juice we mixed before and mix it well.
- Garnish with cilantro then ready to serve.
